Try to recall before you reread
Close the explanation and make a decision. Retrieval practice asks you to bring knowledge to mind, instead of recognizing familiar text. A 2021 classroom meta-analysis covering 222 studies and 48,478 students found an overall learning benefit from testing. That is support for the learning method, not proof that any particular commercial question bank improves certification pass rates.
Review every alternative
After an answer, explain the requirement that makes one option fit. Then explain why each other option misses that requirement. If you chose correctly by guessing, mark the question for review. A correct click is useful feedback, but it is not the same as understanding.
Return after a gap
Make a short note about the concept you missed. Come back in a later session and answer a new question on the same concept. Combine this with documentation and hands-on practice; memorizing a repeated question is a poor substitute for being able to apply the idea.
Keep the lesson. Leave the wording.
- 1Notice
What made me choose that answer?
- 2Explain
Which requirement did I miss?
- 3Distinguish
Why does the closest alternative fail?
- 4Revisit
Can I apply the idea to a fresh scenario?
Use a diagnostic as a starting point
A 20-question sample can reveal what to study next. It cannot provide a reliable probability of passing a full certification exam. Review topic-level feedback, use the official exam guide, and look for improvement across fresh questions.
